happy birthday beth

it was our high school tradition to kidnap each other on our birthdays. at 6 am. heidi thought it would be great fun if we brought that back for beth's 30th birthday...we were all for it, but only cause we love her so much. it was an extra treat to have melis here from washington. i'm not gonna lie, i snoozed a couple times...i wish i used those few precious minutes to do something with myself. we went to callie's cafe. food was awesome...felt like we stepped out of orem for just a bit. i love every second i get to spend with these girls. happy birthday beth! love you so dang much!

ikea

tyler and i ran over to ikea one night. he had never been and i just had to drag him there. he is the best sport. i don't know what it is about that place. i think i could spend hours and hours just wandering through their showrooms. and let's not talk about their shopping areas...we got away with a q-tip jar and candles. and i made a mental list of things we need when we get our own place.

cross country ski day

today we decided was the perfect day to try out tyler's new cross country skis. his dad was kind enough to give his old skis to tyler...he got a good workout with them :) we might have to give them a good waxing. the weather was perfect...almost. on our way back, the snow came down so hard and wet and we were covered in snow by the time we got back. tyler did have to show off his handy dandy camelback while all i had was the saddest water bottle. all in all it was such a delightful day. i am so glad i got to spend the day with my tyler.

go jazz go

for christmas we surprised dad with tickets to a jazz game. with his girls. lucky him :) we got there early so we could get our hot dogs before the game. little did we know, we should have gotten there early to get to our seats. we were at the VERY tipy top. couldn't go any higher if we wanted. the best part...farr's ice cream...yum! they were having issues with their scales/registers so we got our ice cream for pennies. luckily katie got out of there right before they were fixed. the game was awesome. except for when we lost. but just by a little to the spurs. thanks sisters and daddy for a great night!

the magic of hp

i can't even begin to tell you how much i love reading and listening to harry potter with tyler. it is my favorite time of day. favorite. we started reading together and after about 2 books, tyler started giving voices to the characters...move over jim dale. on the way to our honeymoon, we started listening to the cd. and we're addicted.

gingerbread houses

one of my favorite christmas traditions is to make gingerbread houses...or graham cracker houses. i love to sit with my family and chit chat while we get to eat candies and try to build a pretty house. ash's houses are always my favs. we all finish within half hour and ash is usually still cutting her graham's to the right size. she does wonders. this year has been so fun to make my house with tyler. he has some crazy good ideas. i'm not sure how in love he is with making them, but he is such a good sport to go along with what i want. have i mentioned that i love him?
